Welcome to my Star Angel tutorial

This tutorial was made in PSP8.

You will need

Jasc Paint Shop Pro HERE

My Star Angel canvas, supplies and patterns HERE

Unzip the gold fill to your pattern folder and the supplies

to a folder where you can easily find them. Open them in psp

and minimize for now.

The selections are saved in Alpha Channel

To Load from Alpha Channel Go to Selections/Load/Save Selections/

Load selection from Alpha Channel.

Open the Cri_StarAngel_alpha image. Shift+D to copy and close the original.

1. Click on layer star. Selections/Load from Alpha Channel 01-cristar.

   Make your foreground color #FFFFFF and flood fill. Go to Effects/

   Sculpture and choose the gold-embossed tile you downloaded with

   these settings below

2. Make your foreground color #F0A482 and background color #FBDEBE

   Click on layer arm. Selections/Load Selection from Alpha Channel 02-criarm.

   Flood fill with background color, keep selected. With the Airbrush tool

   foreground color, spray around the edges. I used these settings round size 55

   Hardness 7, Step 24, Density 100, Opacity 24.

3. Click on layer arm1. Selections/Load Selection from Alpha Channel 03-criarm1.

    Flood fill with background color, keep selected. With the Airbrush tool

   foreground color, spray around the edges. Same settings.

4. Make your foreground color #FFFFFF and background color the dress tile

    Scale 100% Angle 0

    Click on layer sleeve. Selections/Load Selection from Alpha Channel 04-crisleeve.

    Flood fill with background color, keep selected. With the Airbrush tool

    foreground color, spray around the edges lightly. Same settings.

5. Click on layer sleeve1. Selections/Load selection from Alpha Channel 05-crisleeve1.

    Flood fill with background color, keep selected. With the Airbrush tool

    foreground color, spray around the edges lightly. Same settings.

6. Change the background dress tile Angle to 305.

    Click on layer dress. Selections/Load Selection from Alpha Channel 06-cridress.

    Flood fill with background color, keep selected. With the Airbrush tool

    foreground color, spray around the edges lightly. Same settings.

7.  Add a new layer and name it bow. Open the criangel bow. Edit/copy

    Paste as new  selection and position it on the upper part of the dress.

8. Click on layer wing. Selections/Load Selection from Alpha Channel 07-criwing.

    Open criangel wing, copy and paste the wing into selection.

10. Click on layer wing1.  Selections/Load Selection from Alpha Channel 08-criwing1.

    Open criangelwing1, copy and paste the wing into selection.

    You may now want to paste in the bow to your liking.

11. Add a new layer. Name it hair. Make your foreground color #000000

    and background color #808080, or choose your own favorite hair colors.

    Choose the Paintbrush and paint some hair. I used the preset Hair-tight curl  

    that comes with PSP8.  Size 22, Step 101, Density 100, Rotation 67, Opacity 100

    Blend Mode Normal, and Continuous checked.

12. If you want the same background for your Star Angel here is what I did

     Flood fill the background layer with the dress tile Size 60 Angle 0. Adjust

     Brightness and Contrast  Brightness -20 Contrast 0.

     Duplicate the layer and mirror it. Lower the Opacity of the mirrored

     layer to about 30 or to your liking.

13. New layer. Foreground color #FFFFFF and background a very pale blue

     I used #EFEFFF. Paintbrush preset Snow. Paint a cloud with foreground color

     and use background color to give it some depth.

14. On a new layer add some sparkle on the background. I used Hoods sparkle tube.

      If you want to animate your image it is important to have everything on it's own

      layer. If you don't want to animate it you can put all on the same layer.

15. On a new layer add some more but smaller sparkles on the background.

16. On a new layer above the star layer add sparkle to the star.

17. Add a new layer on top. With your Freehand Selection tool make a squiggled

     selection around your Angel.  Look at my image above.

    Selection /Invert  and flood fill with the pale blue #EFEFFF. Add an Inner bevel

    I used second shape pie Width 8, Smoothness 23, Depth 4, Ambience 0,

    Shininess 17, Color #FFFFFF Angle 84, Intensity 28 and Elevation 65.

    Change layer Blend Mode to Dissolve and the Opacity about 30-40 or

    what does look good to you.
