Description: Zipping up Files, presets or what ever you want to share. Works for XP and Vista
Why Compress files?: Zipping files up will help reduce the the file size. Makes it easier to send through email. Its also a easy why to share files on the internet this way.

1. Go to Start/Programs/Accessories/Windows Explorer.

2. Locate the file you want to zip up. Then Right click on it. Go to Send to/Compressed(zipped) folder. You may get a message box that will pop up and it does not matter if you click yes or no. It will place the zipped folder in the same folder as your files are. If you dont get the message box do not worry about it. It will still place it in your same folder.

If you want to add several files make sure they are all in the same Folder. Hold down the Shift key and select them all and continue on as above.

Its now Zipped and you can share the files with others.

To Unzip the file. Go to Start/Programs/Accessories/Windows Explorer. Right Click on the file and choose which program you want to open it up in. Or Double click on the file and it will open up in the prgram it self.

There are free Zip Programs out there that I find a lot easier to use as I can control where I want the zip file to go and other things. I use AlZip. Both these work pretty much the same way.

And there is also: Quick Zip

1. Once it is Installed. Open Alzip and click on New. A screen will pop up. First Use the Browse Button under New archive filename to locate where you want the files to be zipped up. See 1 Below.

Then use the Folder at the top to locate the Files you want to add to the zip. Click on the file or Files. See 2 above.

Then Click on Add. See 3 above.

Thats all there is to it! To Extract Zip files. Open Al Zip. Choose Open. Find the file you want to unzip. Choose Extract. Locate the folder you want to extract it to and click extract.
