Description: Learn how to draw a basic shape, using the Path Tools. Use the Retouch and and Airbrush tools to shade.

1. Open a New Image 500 X 500 with a White Background. Using the Path Drawing tool Ellipse. 2D: Color- Brown. I used #BFA66A. Draw an shape 52 X 138. Use the rotate freely to turn it to the side a bit. Use the Airbrush tool: Size 40, Transparency:50 Soft edge 0. Pick a darker shade of brown, I used #978252. and shade around the edges.

2. Right Click and duplicate the ear. Use the transform tool, resize, locked and change the height to 117. Go to edit fill and change the color to a light brown. I used #E4CF9F. Use the airbrush same settings and same color to shade around the edges. Group these two layers together. Then duplicate and use the Transform tool to Flip Horizontally. Use the arrow key on the keyboard to move to the right.

3. Using the Path Drawing tool, 2D, Ellipse, brown #BFA66A. Draw a Ellipse 97 X 140. Use the Path Edit. and pull out the bottom node. Make sure you are in Free edit. Then on both side nodes pull them in just a bit. When done click on the path edit to get out of it. Right click and Convert Object type/From Text/Path to Image. Using the Airbrush, same dark brown color increase the airbrush to 60 and shade around the edges.

4. Hit enter on your keyboard. Using the Selection tool/Ellipse. make a small ellipse on the head mine was 39 X 28. If you do not have it in the right spot place the mouse over the selection and a cross bar will appear. You can use this to move the selection. Go to Selection/Invert. then click on the head layer. You can now shade the cheeks. Do one side, then use the arrow keys too move the selection to the other side.

5. Using the Airbrush tool, same settings change to a pink color #F493F4. Click on the Paint as Object and spray some ceeks on. I sprayed about 5 times. Click on the Paint as object to get out of that mode.

6. Use the Line and Arrow tool/Spline Size 1. Make a smile. Use the same dark brown color #978252.

7. Use the Path Drawing Tool/Ellipse, color White. Make an Ellipse 14 X 20. Duplicate it and fill with a Eye Color. Use the Transform tool, locked and make the height 15. Duplicate it again. Fill with Black and use the transform tool, locked and change the height to 10. Use the Paintbrush Tool, size 5 Transparency 0, Soft edge 50, color white. click on the paint as object and place a dot on the eye. Click on Paint as object to get out of that mode. Group all eye layers. Duplicate it and use the arrow keys too move to the right.

8. Using the Path Tool, custom Shape Heart S08, Red #BE0000, Make a shape 321 X 297. Right click and Convert Object type/From Text/Path to Image. Using the Airbrush tool Size 80 a darker red #7C0C0C, shade around the edges. Change to white and shade a line on the bottm right and the top Left.

9. Using the Path Tool, custom Shape B27, Brown, #BFA66A .Make a shape 77 X 82. Use the rotate freely to make it fit the side heart. Go into path edit and use the bottom node to pull out.

10. Right click and Convert Object type/From Text/Path to Image. Using the Airbrush Tool Size 50 and the dark brown color #978252 Shade around the edges. Use the Burn Tool, Size 10 Soft edge 50 Level 50 and draw some fingers. Right click, Duplicate. Use the transform Tool to Flip Horizontally. The use the arrows on your keyboard to move to the other side.

11. Using the Path Drawing tool, Custom Shape S50 (teardrop) Draw a shape 28 x 28 using your dark brown color #978252. Use the Transform Tool to Flip Vertically. Right click and Convert Object type/From Text/Path to Image. Use the Airbrush tool size 20 and Color #786740, shade around the edges. Then use the Paint Brush Tool, #FFFFFF, Size 5, Transparency 50, Soft Edge 80, Paint on Object Mode and paint a line at the top of the nose.

Decorate as you wish!
